Thanks to SecuritySearch.co of New Zealand for recognizing ScreenRetriever as an online safety tool for parents.

They are so right when they say that parenting online is not spying.  Many parents still believe that the online world and offline world are two separate entities.  But it’s important for parents to understand that the online world and offline world are one and the same for kid’s today.  Parenting offline is now only half of the equation for parents today.

To be a parent in today’s digitally dominated world, parents must we aware of what their children are doing online, and how they are behaving online.  If parents don’t know what their kid’s are doing online and how they’re behaving, how can they teach them?  This is what ScreenRetriever is all about… Helping parents to parent online, just as they do offline.  It’s also important that kids know that parents are supervising, so that it makes it easy to have a conversation about their online activity and behavior.

“ScreenRetriever is a parent developed software program designed to monitor the internet use of your children. With so many internet dangers lurking all over the world, and the innocence of children, Victoria and Mark felt the urge to keep their daughters safe. This software allows for parents to log in and monitor what their children are doing online. During monitoring, an icon changes color on screen informing the child that they are being supervised. Parenting Online is not Spying is a piece defending the somewhat controversial topic of cyber software to watch children but the dangers are real.”
